Great Wakering 2 Witham Town 2

FOR a pre-season friendly this was an exciting game throughout with plenty of good football from both teams, bags of enthusiasm and played in a sporting spirit.

Witham took the lead after seven minutes when after a good build up Niki Lowe scored with a low shot that crept just inside the post with the home keeper stranded at the other end. Witham soon went further ahead when Rob Edmunds skilfully side footed over the keeper, however Danny Williams pulled one back for the home team with a powerful header half way through the first half.

The good football continued through the second half and Khory Davinson equalised when left unmarked near the post, and with both teams going for the winner there were missed chances at each end.
