TIPTREE United are pleased to announce that they have managed to beat off the attention of clubs higher in the pyramid by pulling off a double coup to sign 2 experienced players who have agreed to join them to help achieve their objective of promotion from the Essex Senior League next season.

Dan Lunan, aged 25, a 6ft 2in defender has joined from Conference South side Bishop's Stortford where he played regularly at left back but he is equally comfortable in any defensive position. Dan has previous experience with Southend United, Chelmsford, Grays and Thurrock.

Paul King aged 27, another 6ft 2in defender who has joined from Ryman Division One North side Tilbury.

Elder brother of Tiptree's Assistant Manager, Paul is another strong central defender who is a natural leader who can pose an aerial threat in the opposing penalty area and whose previous clubs include Southend United, Canvey Island, Metropolitan Police and Maldon Town.

Commenting on the signings, Brad King, Tiptree's Assistant Manager said: 'We are extremely pleased to have managed to sign both players who bring with them the invaluable experience we will need if we are to challenge for promotion next season. Both players turned down offers from more senior clubs and we are obviously delighted that they have decided to join us.”

Tiptree are also pleased to announce that they have managed to secure the services of experienced midfielder Dean Parratt from Brentwood Town.

Dean has played for a number of local non-league clubs at all levels and was considering retirement before changing his mind to join up with former manager Colin Wallington who said: “Dean is still one of the best passers of the ball you will see in non-league football and we are obviously delighted to have him on board for next season as it will give us a number of different options.”
