Stowmarket Town have appointed two new coaches to their set-up ahead of the 2015-16 season.

Manager Rick Andrews and his assistant Shane Coldron will be joined by coaches Guy Hayes and Andy Bayford for the new campaign.

Hayes – who takes up the position as first team coach – is currently a youth coach at Ipswich Town, having previously worked for Norwich City and Peterborough.

As well as running his own football coaching business, Footstars, Hayes is one of only three licensed coaches in Suffolk to hold the FA Level 2 Futsal qualification.

Hayes won promotion as manager of Ipswich Wanderers Reserves last season, after previous spells in charge of Copleston Ladies, Chantry Grasshoppers and Willis Reserves.

Bayford has been appointed as the club’s new goalkeeping coach and comes to Greens Meadow following spells at Kesgrave Kestrels and Ipswich Valley Rangers.

A coach and shareholder for specialist goalkeeping coaching company GK Icon, Bayford also currently holds Level 2 coaching and Level 1 goalkeeping qualifications.

Meanwhile, Stowmarket will host SIL Senior Division side Felixstowe Harpers, in a pre-season friendly, on Saturday, July 11 (3pm KO).

Andrews’ side will then welcome another SIL Senior Division side, Ipswich Valley Rangers, on July 18 (3pm).

Town play their first away game of pre-season at Framlingham Town on July 25 (3pm).

Town will also visit Haughley United on Wednesday, July 29 (6.45pm), before going to Walsham-le-Willows on August 1 (3pm).

The club have launched their own website at www.stowtownyouth.co.uk. Anyone interested in playing for one of the club’s 17 teams should call Simon Griffiths on 07833 556811.
