After more than a month in charge, Dean Greygoose admits life at Mildenhall Town is very much a work in progress.

Since taking the reins at Recreation Way, Greygoose has helped Hall enjoy a mini mid-season revival as their ninth-placed position in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division testifies.

Hall have won three of their last four league games under Greygoose’s rule, and the boss has been pleased with what he has seen from the last month of action after the west Suffolk side fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Thetford in his first game in charge.

“You have to look at it overall,” Greygoose declared, whose side lost 2-0 to ten-man Newmarket Town in their most recent game on December 27.

“Are we doing the right things? Have I got the right players here? Are we playing the right way?

“We lost the first one, we’ve got ourselves three wins out of seven games (three league wins, two league defeats, two cup defeats) in total.”

Greygoose is interim boss of the west Suffolk side, but has ambitions to do well for now, and further down the line.

“I’m looking at the long-term as well as the short-term,” he continued.

“I know that from my experience that we still need to work on things to be where I want us to be at the end of the season.

“To win games sometimes you can be lucky, and sometimes when your luck is out, you don’t win games.

“Generally over 30/40 games if you do the right things, you’ll win more games than you lose. Even the best manager and the best teams can lose three or four games on the bounce.”

Greygoose will be looking to develop consistency in a busy January schedule for Hall.

On Saturday, they welcome a Diss side who will be buoyed after lifting themselves off the bottom of the division following a 0-0 draw at Gorleston on Saturday.

Mildenhall then travel to in-form Whitton the following weekend, before hosting a seventh-placed Stanway and 16th-placed Walsham-le-Willows.
