AFC Sudbury have completed the signing of prolific Leiston midfielder Craig Parker, on a deal until the end of the season.

Parker, 27, has also featured for Bury Town, Chelmsford City, Needham Market and was top scorer in his first campaign at Leiston last season.

AFC manager Jamie Godbold said: “It’s a great signing for the club in terms of our intent to get to the play-offs and win promotion.

“I have played with Craig at Needham and against him many times and he has always scored goals.”

Parker has played 32 games for the Ryman Premier League Blues this season, scoring ten goals, and could make his debut at Brentwood tomorrow.

“I am surpised we have managed to sign him because he has been in the team, but Leiston’s loss is our gain and I am really excited about bringing him to the club,” added Godbold.

“Craig represents the calibre of signing we want to bring to the football club and his arrival will create a buzz in the dressing room.

“We have got a really exciting blend of youth and experience in the squad.”

Parker made his debut in Saturday’s 4-1 win at Brentwood.
