LEE Strudwick's dismissal took the shine off the Cobras' away point at Scunthorpe.

Like the Rockets before them, the Kart Raceway Cobras produced a battling effort in the second part of Friday's double header at Scunthorpe, only this time a Rye House side came home with a match point.

The Cobras narrowly lost the National League match 45-43 to the Saints.

However, what many neutrals will chiefly remember from the match is the unfortunate last heat ejection of Strudwick and subsequent fracas, which resulted in the Rye rider being fined £300 by the referee.

Cobras: Danny Halsey 5, Jamie Courtney 10, David Mason 7, Lee Strudwick 10+1, Rob Smith 5, Mike Bovis 1, Ben Morley 5+2.

Scunthorpe: Simon Lambert 14+1, Kyle Howarth 7+1, James Sarjeant 4+1, Gary Irving 6, Scott Richardson 6+1, Adam Wrathall 5, Ashley Morris 3+2.

Match points: Scunthorpe Saints 2 Rye House Cobras 1
