NEW signing Linus Eklof believes the East of England Showground will be his dream home track.

The Swedish youngster jumped at the chance to join the Readypower Panthers as number eight and is convinced it's an ideal time to test himself at the highest level.

He said: “Peterborough is like a big Swedish track so it should suit me perfect.

“I've had one season in the Premier League so to do a few meetings in the Elite League would be perfect."

Eklof made a major impression after joining King's Lynn last May and has agreed a two-way contract that will see him on stand-by when Peterborough's double-up reserves Adam Roynon and Klaus Jakobsen are unavailable.

And he's relishing the chance to race in the Elite League in only his second summer in Britain.

He added: “I don't know how often I will get to ride for Peterborough but I will be ready.

“I've not really been riding that long but I! do think it is time to try and get some meetings against the best riders in the world.

“I will be spending most of my time living in England this season, I will be staying around King's Lynn and flying to Sweden for my meetings there.”

Eklof, 20, has a busy year ahead of him as he is still under 21 and is a valuable cog in Sweden's junior World Cup squad.

He went on: “Individually my ambition is top ten in the Under 21 World Championship and top three in the Swedish Under 21 Final.

“In Britain it is to score as many points as I can and defend the trophies and league championship we won at King's Lynn last season.

“And, of course, do some Elite League meetings.”
