TABLE-TOPPING Wolverhampton Wolves are the visitors to Foxhall on Thursday evening for what looks like a mouth-watering fixture on the heath.

The Wolves went to the top of The Sky Sports Elite League table after two impressive victories over struggling Poole home and away last week. Whilst Wolverhampton attracted a lot of pre-season attention with their solid looking young team, many thought it would be returning veteran Peter Karlsson that would be leading the team with his customary high scores.

Such is their strength in depth that it is impressive performances from the young guns Freddie Lindgren, Tai Woffinden and Ty Proctor that is catching the eye.

Thursday evenings meeting will be the first chance for Witches fans to see Grand Prix leader Freddie Lindgren in action at Foxhall this season. Freddie finished in second place in the final in Prague on Saturday night but leads the championship after scoring an impressive 13 points in the qualifying heats.

Witches Team Manager Peter Simmons said, “This is a meeting I have been looking forward to since the fixture list came out. The Wolves are a very solid looking side with both youthful exuberance and experience. Peter Karlsson is not as young as he was, but our top boys will have to be on top of their game to contain him because he loves the Foxhall circuit and we are all too aware of the form of young Freddie Lindgren at the moment. Throw Tai Woffinden in to the mix and it looks like another thriller for the fans.”
