Republic of Ireland defender Sean St Ledger has left Ipswich Town without making a single appearance.
The 30-year-old joined as a free agent at the back end of November and has featured as an unused sub for the Blues.
“Sean’s gone back,” said manager Mick McCarthy.
“I have got young Matt Clarke who is excellent and I would not stand in his way by having someone who I don’t think is going to do any better than him. I would play Matt.
“I also have Elliott Hewitt out at Colchester with a 24-hour recall so I am not going to put a block on their progression by taking someone in.”
