No contact from Fulham over Stockdale

IPSWICH Town manager Paul Jewell says he has heard nothing from Fulham over loanee keeper David Stockdale following fears that he might be recalled.
Cottagers keeper Mark Schwarzer was in the wars during a 0-0 draw at West Brom on Saturday, suffering a head injury and playing on after also hurting his back.
Manager Martin Jol holds a 24-hour recall option on Stockdale – who has been called up to two England squads during his time at Ipswich – but it seems as though that won’t be taken up just yet.
Schwarzer says he is confident of being fit for Thursday night’s Europa League trip to Danish side Odense, while Fulham also have sub keeper Neil Etheridge waiting in the wings.
“We were made aware that Mark (Schwarzer) hurt his back but, touch wood, we haven’t heard anything from Fulham,” said Jewell, whose side travel to West Ham tomorrow night.
“We are completely at their mercy, they hold a 24-hour recall clause and that is constantly a thought in our minds.
“I wouldn’t say we have a replacement lined up because that is very difficult, but we have targets and I think it’s really important we are proactive in the eventuality anything happens.”
Striker Jason Scotland was substituted in some pain after picking up a knock in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough, while centre-back Ibrahima Sonko got through the final moments of the match on adrenaline having passed a late fitness test on his knee.
Jewell hopes that both will be available for tomorrow night’s game at Upton Park.
He said: “Jason got stamped on accidentally and has come in a little bit sore today.
“We’re hoping Sonko can train this morning. He deserves great credit because he’s had more games than training sessions since he’s been here.
“When I saw his injury after coming off against Coventry I thought there was no way he’d play at Middlebrough, but he showed great desire and determination to play. We basically had to wheel him out there.
“He showed great power and presence to get through it.”
