Ipswich Town youngsters Conor McKendry and Pat Webber have joined National League South side Braintree Town on a month’s loan.
The pair move to the Iron on a youth loan and could be involved when they take on Havant & Waterlooville tomorrow.
Webber made his senior debut during the Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace in August, while McKendry has impressed during the Blues’ Under 23 campaign this season.
When asked recently whether McKendry was ready for the Blues’ first-team, manager Mick McCarthy joked: “I did ask him if someone had kidnapped Conor McKendry and replaced him with somebody who hits the target!.
“Tongue-in-cheek, of course, but we are always banging on at him about keeping it under the crossbar, TC (Terry Connor) especially.
“I only saw the first half performance because we were training, but he’s doing alright, he’s doing fine. He’s not at the level of the first team yet though.”
Meanwhile, academy full-back Dylan Crowe has been called up to the England U17 squad for the Algarve Tournament which begins next week.
Crowe was part of the Ipswich Town side which exited the FA Youth Cup at the hands of Blackpool on Tuesday night and is a player who likes to get forward and help out in attack.
