Ipswich Town’s potential next generation of players will be on show at Portman Road tonight, when the Blues’ under-15s face Tottenham.
The north Londoners were the opposition last season as the two teams fought out a 2-2 draw before Spurs won 4-2 on penalties.
Included in the Town squad is Andre Dozzell, son of former Town midfielder Jason Dozzell and Daniel Muamba, brother of ex-Bolton player Fabrice Muamba.
“We have been fortunate down the years to have Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham agree to come down here and play games against our Academy sides,” Town’s Academy manager, Bryan Klug said.
“It says something about us though as a club and the name we have in the game that these clubs agree to play us here. They know we will treat the game the right way and try and put on a good football match.
“Tottenham are one of the best academies in the country so we know our boys will face some quality competition.
“It’s not all about the result on the night though, it’s about giving the young players a chance to play on the main pitch at Portman Road. It gives them a chance to play in front of a crowd, in a different environment to what they are used to.
“It gives them a taste of what first-team football is about as well but for us, the most important aspect is that it’s another stage in their development.”
The game kicks-off at 7pm. Tickets are available online at www.itfcdirect.com priced at £5 for adults, £3 for seniors, students and under 20s and £1.00 for under 16s.
Seats are unreserved in the middle and lower tiers of the East of England Co-op stand and will also be available on the day.
