Ipswich Town are among a host of Championship clubs interested in free agent striker Matty Fryatt, according to transfer website HITC Sport.

Nottingham Forest have decided not to offer the 31-year-old a new deal this summer, despite his return from a long-term Achilles injury during the final few months of the 2016/17 campaign.

Town, QPR and his former club Hull are all said to be weighing up a move. The Nuneaton-born forward was previously a fans’ favourite during his spell at the Tigers, scoring 31 goals in 84 appearances and starting in the FA Cup Final against Arsenal in 2014.

Prior to that he scored 63 goals in five years at Leicester City before making a £1.2m move to the KC Stadium.
