On one of the most hectic transfer deadline days ever witnessed at Colchester United, U's boss John McGreal has completed a fifth new signing with the arrival of striker, Nicke Kabamba.

Kabamba has joined the League Two U’s from Portsmouth, on loan, until January, to add to McGreal’s attacking options.

The 24-year-old arrived at Fratton Park in January of this year, after scoring 33 in 70 games for Hampton & Richmond.

He is the fifth new face to arrive at Colchester today, following in the footsteps of Brandon Comely, Brandon Hanlan, Sanmi Odelusi and Ryan Inniss.

A former sprinter, Kabamba played in non-league for Uxbridge, Hayes and Burnham before his successful move to Hampton & Richmond in 2015.

He has so far made five league appearances for Portsmouth, and just one this season.
