Kane Vincent-Young described his first-ever goal for Colchester United as “his best moment” in a U’s shirt.
The 21-year-old netted a terrific solo goal, running half the length of the pitch before burying a low shot from the edge of the box, to put the U’s 4-1 up in Saturday’s 5-1 home win over Forest Green Rovers.
Vincent-Young’s strike was the highlight of an excellent afternoon for the Essex club, who recorded their first win of the season to move away from the relegation zone and up to 17th spot.
“Without a doubt, that was my best moment in a Colchester United shirt,” enthused Vincent-Young, who was making his 34th league appearance.
“Goals win games, and it’s a great feeling to score. It’s an amazing feeling, and it was a big win as well.
“It was a fantastic performance, just what we needed and just what we deserved as well. Hopefully, that can kick-start our season now,” added Vincent-Young.
