Wroxham are through to the fourth round of the Ryman League Cup after beating Needham Market 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
On-loan Norwich City goalkeeper Remi Matthews was the hero last night as Wroxham edged home at Trafford Park.
The youngster made an excellent stop to deny Olly Fenn as the tie ended all square after 90 minutes and then produced the decisive save in the penalty shoot-out to see the Yachtsmen home.
After a goalless first half the game sprung to life on 63 minutes when a long through ball caught out the home defence and Sam Newsom beat Matthews to break the deadlock.
Wroxham levelled the scores 13 minutes later when substitute Matt Blake curled the ball home after good work from Gavin Lemmon and with no further scoring the tie went straight to penalties, with Lemmon, Ben Jones, Ross Durrant and Andy Easthaugh on target for the hosts.
