NEEDHAM Market manager Danny Laws has blasted his players for their “unacceptable and embarrassing” home form.

Needham have still yet to win at home in Division One North this season, following Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to Soham Town Rangers.

After trailing 2-0 at the interval Needham fought back to equalise, before substitute Duane Wright was sent off and the visitors then scored the winner.

Needham, who have reached the play-offs two years in a row, have failed to win in ten attempts at Bloomfields, and Laws has now resigned himself to the fact that promotion is beyond them this season.

He said: “When you look at the table and the column shows no wins at home it is unacceptable and embarrassing for everyone concerned.

“Regardless of our record we can not perform like that in front of our own supporters and expect any praise whatsoever. Every one of us has a responsibility to put it right.

“I find it very difficult to say anything positive because when you look at the league table and the number of points we have amassed we can not talk about promotion.

“We have taken three points from the last 15 and are sliding down the table and I am more worried about what is below us.

“I could have gone into the dressing room after Tuesday night’s game and said to them that we had dominated the game, but at crucial times that game sums up our season and why we have dropped a considerable number of points.”

Laws, whose side travel to Wroxham tomorrow, cited diabolical defending for all three goals Needham conceded allied to a lack of cutting edge and a clinical mentality to finish off Soham for the defeat.

“We were extremely lacklustre in both boxes. We had two clear-cut chances before their first goal and after we got it back to 2-2 Kieran Leabon missed two chances and Pat Bexfield put one over the bar.

“We had one or two other half chances which could have put us 4-2 up and we could have had two sent off and still won the game.”
