Leaders hit back to seal Iron defeat

CONFERENCE league leaders Newport County scored twice in the last 20 minutes, to gain all three points at Braintree this afternoon.
Iron had taken the lead after a quiet first half through Bradley Quinton (53) when he glided a Danny Sparkes corner into the net.
But Newport showed their class as Max Porter levelled things with a 25-yard strike on 70 minutes, before Ismail Yakubu side-footed home the winner six minutes from time when he was left unmarked five yards out.
Newport have now won their first four league matches of the new Conference season. Next up for Iron is a trip to Woking on Tuesday night.
