NEW signing Adam Tann is expected to go straight into the Bury Town starting line-up today.
The Chelmsford City defender has agreed a one-month loan deal with Bury Town following lengthy discussions between the two clubs, which has also seen Craig Parker’s loan extended.
Tann, who has a wealth of experience with Cambridge United, Notts County and Leyton Orient among his former clubs, should make his debut in this afternoon’s home match against Metropolitan Police.
Parker, meanwhile, has already spent two months on loan and Trevor Collins, Bury’s director of football, said the club were delighted to extend the deal.
“During the last few games, Craig has really shown his attributes and we are delighted that he will remain at Ram Meadow into the New Year.
“His and John Kennedy’s performance last Saturday at Hampton were outstanding and we hope his extended stay will continue to help us to push for promotion at the end of the season.”
Centre-back Tann, who can also operate at right-back or in midfield, joins the club at a time when the Blues are without three influential midfield players who all have long-term injuries.
Billy Clark, who broke his ankle in last Saturday’s 3-2 win at Hampton and Richmond Borough, could be out for the rest of the season along with Lee Reed, who has a hernia problem.
Connor Hall, who is due to undergo a cartilage operation on Wednesday, is unlikely to return before February.
Callum Kearns and Elliot Hunter remain long-term absentees with knee injuries.
“The inclusion of the new players is so important at this stage but the current squad should also be congratulated in the way they have stuck together and shown great resilience, despite the injury list,” added Collins.
Bury are running a promotion for today’s game, offering half-price admission for anyone holding a current season ticket for any professional club, reducing the cost of adult admission to £5.
Bury are at home again on Tuesday evening when Suffolk rivals Leiston are the visitors for the first meeting between the two clubs at Ryman Premier level.
