BEN Chenery has been appointed as the new assistant manager at Ryman League Premier Division side Bury Town.

He held the same role at Blue Square Bet South Chelmsford City up until the end of last season.

Chenery, who started his career at Ipswich Town, played professionally at Luton Town and Cambridge United, before joining Kettering, Canvey Island and then Chelmsford.

He takes over the role as assistant to Richard Wilkins that was vacated by Richard Skelly at the end of last season.
