AFC Sudbury have suffered their third bad break of the season.
Central defender James Smith fractured his right ankle in Tuesday’s evening 1-1 home draw against Thamesmead Town in Ryman League Division One North. It is not known how long he will be out of action.
The break follows on from striker James Baker’s broken wrist and midfielder Sam Clarke’s broken arm which manager Chris Tracey has had to contend with this season.
Striker Lee Boylan, who has recently returned to action, also had a lengthy spell on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage.
Meanwhile Leiston striker Jordan Heath has suffered a double fracture of the fibula.
Heath, who joined the Ryman League Premier Division newcomers at the start of this season, was carried off during his side’s 4-3 FA Trophy second-round replay victory at Metropolitan Police on Tuesday night.
He has since been assessed by the doctors and it has been confirmed that he has a double fracture of the fibula.
