RICHARD Wright has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with his beloved Blues allowing him to leave should a longer-term offer come along.
The keeper signed until the end of the season following an injury to loanee keeper David Stockdale in November.
But he has slipped down to third in the pecking order, only making the bench for tonight’s home match against West Ham due to Alex McCarthy’s suspension.
Paul Jewell confirmed yesterday that Arran Lee-Barrett would start in goal.
In a whirlwind week for the home-town stopper, Wright spent a few days last week in America holding a preliminary trial with MLS side Dallas FC.
And the Blues boss admitted a deal might go through – with the club’s blessing.
Jewell explained: “He went over there to do some training and he spoke to Dallas. He was always going to come back here – their season doesn’t start till March.
“It was an opportunity he wanted to take up, but we knew he would be back and Richard will be on the bench (against West Ham).”
Asked if club and player had an agreement should a long-term offer be made to Wright elsewhere, Jewell replied: “We have a gentleman’s agreement. Richard Wright is a terrific pro and with us not having a game, he went over there for a few days. Something may or may not happen.”

If it is Dallas Cowboys RW is considering perhaps he could take with him Jewell's signings who are cowboys and if he visits Disneyland he could probably drop Cleggie in the Micky Mouse area !!!!!

Richard III on the bench? Don't let West Ham hear that. They'll stay away. Word on the street.

A bit like signing him and then loaning him to ourselves. As a far-fetched way of demoralising Lee-Barrett and making the goalkeeping situation ever more farcical this has some merit. Otherwise it is gob-smackingly inept even by Town's standards.
