The home side took the lead in the 17th minute when Tigers’ striker Matty Fryatt slipped a pass inside from the edge of the area and Robbie Brady’s low shot took a deflection, wrong-footing Alex McCarthy, on its way into the bottom corner.

The Blues started the second half the better team, so it came as a surprise when Robert Koren seemingly put the game beyond Town’s reach with a low strike from 20 yards in the 53rd minute.

But the Town fightback began when Aaron Mclean kicked Tommy Smith in the head, in the penalty area, and midfielder Leadbitter hit a cool penalty past Vito Mannone in the 66th minute.

Leadbitter then completed the comeback in spectacular style four minutes later, firing in Lee Martin’s pass on the half-volley from 20 yards.

Both sides went in search of the winner, but the points were ultimately shared at the KC Stadium.
