Tottenham Hotspur's Younes Kaboul (left) and Aston Villa's Emile Heskey battle for the ball

EMILE Heskey’s wage demands are likely to see him priced out of a move to Portman Road.
The 62-cap England international was in contact with the Blues earlier this month and was said to be interested in reuniting with Paul Jewell after the pair worked together at Wigan.
But we understand that Heskey’s wage demands, after a career spent mostly in the Premier League, appear to be out of reach of the Blues’ stringent finances.
The striker was said to be on more than £40,000 a week at Villa and though he might be willing to cut that in half now he is a free agent, that would still comfortably make him the top earner at Town.
Location is also said to be an issue with Heskey and his family now having second thoughts about whether they want to relocate to Suffolk.
Hull City and Leicester City have also been mentioned in connection with the frontman and the smart money is on Heskey lining up in the Championship next season – but not with Ipswich.

Message for PJ: a) you don't have to make any desperation signings if you're 'building' the club and, b) please forget your 'old boys' because they're now old!

This story was only ever paper talk - as the EADT has to write stories over the summer months. Heskey is a midlands boys and was never seriously going to come to Suffolk for less money to join a team with no plan going nowhere.

............. ITFC news must be a little thin on the ground in the EADT office today so what do they do? As usual they run a story that contains very little in terms of facts to back it up! Oh so very poor.......

Not a bad pension for an old overrated striker. We.ve already got Ellington, we don't need another.

Not much of a miss then really. Better to pay an up and coming young striker a decent wage, than someone who is essentially a has been too much. What we lack and would still lack with Heskey is a prolific goal scorer. A striker who would get us 20 to 25 goals a season. The purchases and loanee we have added look quite decent, but unless we cut the goals against tally considerably from last season we will still be up against it.
