IPSWICH Town are closing in on the loan addition of Manchester United defender Reece Brown, according to Sky Sports.
The 21-year-old, who is the brother of former United defender Wes Brown, was on loan at League One side Coventry City earlier this season. The England Under-20 international has had previous spells out on loan at Bradford, Oldham and Doncaster.
The 6ft 2in player was an unused substitute for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side when they faced Leeds in the League Cup earlier this season.

Transfer rumour ends up in print on the EADT. Shock horror! Does this have the same foundation as the Kilmarnock goalkeeper story? As for the hysteria about loans, having a plethora of loanees doesn't seem to be doing Watford too much harm. If a player can improve the side, fine.

Re ged's comments below - Just in case no one realised, this is ged's very cunning attempt to start a doubt McCarthy campaign. His guile never ceases to amaze. Be careful everyone, he may catch us out.

Terrible manager? Not so sure about that Ged! Have you forgotten where the club were before he took over.

I think, if true, you have to question why we need another defender. Surely priority should be given to sorting out that midfield which seems incapable of either helping out the defense or providing ammunition for the attack.

Ex loan spells at Coventry, Doncaster, Oldham and 4th division Bradford, he certainly has all the right credentials for journeyman mccarthy. My god how many loan players has dud mccarthy signed so far after saying there would be none??? Talk about being a hypocrite dont think anything he says can be relied on to be the truth, what a terrible manager!
