IPSWICH Town have not been in contact with available Dundee United midfielder Scott Roberston, the EADT and Ipswich Star understands.

The 27-year-old helped the Scottish club qualify for the Europa League with a winning goal against Celtic earlier this month, but is set to reject a new deal and pursue ambitions of playing south of the border.

It’s understood that the details of the twice capped Scotland international have been circulated around Championships clubs.

However, contrary to some reports, Ipswich Town are yet to make an enquiry.

Robertson started out at Dundee before making a controversial switch to rivals Dundee United in 2008. He scored seven times in the season just gone – his best ever goal haul.

  • Well that only leaves several thousand other players we presumably have made enquiries about. Stuart writes a good non story.

  • If he plays for Dundee Utd then he must be a real midfield general, considering the SPL is the English equivalent of Sunday Morning division 9 then we will probably lose out on him to the Slug and Lettuce Reserves
