A FANTASTIC second half of the season from Ipswich Town Womens FC has been capped by a comprehensive Suffolk County Cup final victory yesterday.
The ladies side came back from a goal behind to eventually beat a plucky Lowestoft side thanks to goals from Rebecca Vaughan, Dani Bitten (2), Michelle Allum, Kat Parnell and Amanda Everett, the latter also missing a penalty.
The team have gone the entire second half of the South East Women’s Combination League unbeaten, beating Norwich twice and finishing third.
Mark Lawrence, club secretary, said: “The team have been exceptional since Christmas and they did well to overcome a young Lowestoft side to win the cup.”
There was even more for Bitten to celebrate after she was named Suffolk’s player of the season.

A very classy performance in difficult windy conditions. A credit to the club against the newly reformed Lowestoft side who themselves have been playing some stylish stuff and have quality fitting of much higher level. A good learning experience for the Lowestoft side and thanks to the Ipswich team for being great ambassadors and friendliness shown to my autograph hunting lads!!!! Best wishes to both teams in future promotions!!!
