MANCHESTER United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak is being targeted by Ipswich Town, according to national reports.
A new number one is seen as a top priority by Paul Jewell after a season that has seen four different keepers in goal for Town.
And reports have come out claiming that the Polish international might be on his radar with Kuszczak leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old is currently on loan at Watford and played against Ipswich in the Hornets’ 2-1 win last month.

Whoever is finally signed it will probably be better than another name being touted around, David(Calamity) James although his age meets Jewell's player profile.

@ Monkey1986. I wouldn't go suggesting the fact he played for Man U as an indicator of his greatness. Jim Leighton, Les Sealy, Taibi, Goram, Bartez and, until the recent few games, De Gea, are not good examples. Schmeichel and VDS were great, but the % of right ones Fergie (who I agree is possibly the best British manager ever) gets is too small.

Its true that we would pay the player a higher signing on fee if he has no contract but a 500k (or whatever) signing on fee is always better than a £1m fee and 200K to the player. People that are saying he isnt good enough are just wrong frankly too. He's a fantastic reaction shot stopped and is a very solid keeper. He wasnt signed by Manchester United for nothing.

No thanks. Not good enough and would be yet another 30 year old freebie who is bound to want big money. We have signed more than enough of them in PJ's reign to date.

Good grief you really can fool some of the people all of the time. Here we go on the loanee and cast off merry-go-round yet again and some buffoons seem to think it is good news.

Sounds like progression (perhaps) but you are very wrong, Monkey1986. You may hear the words 'Free Transfer', but it is just another way of saying 'lots of money goes to the the player'. A bit like Leadbitter, he is waiting to see whether a club will come in and offer him huge £cash (to any normal person) instead of paying a large sum in the form of a transfer fee. My honest opinion regarding Kuszczak though, is that his wage would likely be too high for the budget Jewell has to play with.

This would be a cacking sigining. Not sure we can afford him but a class addition- Yes I know he's 30 but thats the right age for a GK these days. If we cou;ld get George Boyd from posh plus a right back, tie Tommy Smith down and grab one more decent striker I really think we would have a team that could challenge next season. I know we will all be watching the closed seaon with great interest lets look forward to next season and perhaps we can wave at Steroo as we pass each other by and restore the natural order of things in the league

Would be a terrific signing. Wages wont be cheap but with no fee to pay for him it will still be a decent deal.
