DELIGHTED Aaron Cresswell has admitted his opener against Wolves this afternoon was the first time he has scored with his right foot!
The left-back took the ball from DJ Campbell and found the bottom far corner with an assured side-foot finish in the 33rd minute.
The points were safe, against the side who sacked Mick McCarthy in February, when Campbell raced through a stationary home defence to coolly slot the ball beyond Carl Ikeme in the 65th minute to give Town a 2-0 win at Molineux.
Cresswell said: “I know my right foot is not the best – it is the first time I have scored with my right foot. I don’t think I will again!
“DJ played a little ball back and I couldn’t believe the space I had, I just wanted to find the corner and it went in.
“We just have to keep plugging away and as long as we get the three points, I don’t care who scores.”
It was a confident Blues performance which moves them up to 19th in the Championship with a points tally that leaves the side closer to the top-six than the bottom three.
Summing up the game, Cresswell said: “I think we started well in the first half.
“We knew we had to keep it tight at the back, not give away an early goal and try and get their crowd turning against them. Thankfully we took the lead and kept it until half-time.
“I thought we were the better team, we took the goals well and killed it when we had to. It was unlucky for Chops (Michael Chopra) not to make it 3-0 (at the end).”
The fact Chopra missed the injury-time chance, put through by Nigel Reo-Coker but shooting wide, means Cresswell is now equal with Town’s number 10 as third top-scorer this season.
