The striker was the only over-age player picked by Sean McCarthy and Mark Kennedy, who are overseeing the Under-21s this season.

Byron Lawrence, Joe Whight and Cormac Burke were all included in the squad as well as Cameroonian trialist Yann Songo’o, a centre-back.

Speaking of the 21-year-old today, Town assistant boss Chris Hutchings said: “He was here last week and he’s here this week.

“He’s done well, we want to see him in games. We’ll get the DVD because we haven’t got down there, but it’s something that we’re looking at.”
