JASON Scotland has become a free agent after agreeing a settlement over the final few months of his Ipswich Town contract.
The 33-year-old striker has made just one appearance under new boss Mick McCarthy after slipping down the pecking order following the arrivals of David McGoldrick, Aaron Mclean and Frank Nouble.
Speaking recently, McCarthy said: “Jason is likely to be going somewhere. He’s been fabulous, Jason, he’s such a lovely character and a nice man, he’s been great around the place.
“But we’re going younger and hungrier, I guess, and unfortunately Jason’s missing out. But he understands and he’d like to go and play football somewhere in the twilight of his career.”
Scotland was brought to Portman Road by Roy Keane in August 2010, for a fee believed to be in the region of £1m from Wigan.
The former Trinidad and Tobago international made 59 starts and 38 substitute appearances for the Blues, scoring 21 goals.
