Paul Jewell’s men will face Bristol Rovers for the midweek cup match at Portman Road after initial thoughts that the game could be played on a Saturday afternoon – seven days before the Championship season started – came to nothing.

The match in the former Carling Cup will come six days after Town’s final pre-season friendly at Colchester United before Town start the season with another home game at newly-promoted Blackburn Rovers on the weekend of August 18.
