BLACKBURN ROVERS are closing in on the capture of former Ipswich Town loan star, DJ Campbell, according to reports in Lancashire.
The 31-year-old scored 10 goals in a loan spell at Portman Road earlier this season and Town have been keen to bring the QPR striker back to Suffolk.
However, Blackburn, managed by Michael Appleton, look set to beat Hull City to the forward’s signature and it is thought the player is undergoing a medical at Ewood Park.

Harry obviously doesn't think DJ is good enough, so why sign a player for 3 years or more when your club has pretensions to being in the Premiership any time soon and a top class manager is saying have him, he's not good enough for QPR and look where they are. I am totally behind MM on this one. Over priced and expecting too longer contract for both his age and ability. I would rather chance a lower Division striker who's in his early 20's, pay less money, give him a decent contract and hope for the Best ( George would be nice).

seems we are not the only club who cannot agree terms with DJ perhaps his agent thinks he is worth more than he really is.

He scored 10 goals,5 of which were from the spot and he also missed two, which leaves 5 outfield goals, one of which was handball that leaves only 4 genuine outfield goals, does that really warrant 42 months and 20k per week.?

It's a big ask 4 years, but we have wasted far more money on far less certainty. We've lost him once, and should get him again. In less than half a season he has scored 10 goals. It's not hard to work that's 20+ per season. And when was the last time we bought a striker who can actually score? At the end of the day though. We won't get him.

THE whole story with D J CAMBELL dont add up to me, We was told he loves ipswich, and club was already in talks to sign him, Then we was told we can match anyone in the league on wages, and then cambell will only go to a club pn a permanate basis, So whats happens hes going to Hull on loan, So mr Clegg what u do this time, he would have been difference between mis table position or relagation struggle, 2 or 3 years had to be worth the gamble, better then we have now,,

For the first time in years we find someone who knows where the net is, he enjoys it here, he's available. So what happens? We let him go to Hull whilst borrowing one of their non-scoring rejects. You couldn't make it up.

If Holloway withdrew interest, then there has to be a story behind that. Shame, prolific goal scorer. We could always take a photo copy of him scoring and pin it on the back of a certain players shirt, no names mentioned but you know where to find him.
