Emmanuel-Thomas opened the scoring at the Ricoh Arena before two headed goals from Chopra gave the Blues a 3-2 win over the league’s bottom club.

The duo have both hit three goals in two matches after also notching against West Ham last Tuesday.

Now they have been named in the Football League’s team of the week in the Championship – to keep the feel-good factor going around Portman Road.

The full team is: Kelvin Davis (Southampton); Abdoulaye Faye (West Ham), Gordon Greer (Brighton), Michael Duff (Burnley), Jonathan Parr (Crystal Palace); Robert Snodgrass (Leeds), Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (Ipswich), John Eustace (Watford), Alex Kacaniklie (Watford); Matt Phillips (Blackpool), Michael Chopra (Ipswich).

  • With Towns ability of conceding goals almost as refined as their ability not to score them, one can only assume that the presence of two Town players in 'team of the week' is a clear demonstration by the powers that be that they have already run out of credible candidates this year.
