Where do you think we will finish this season/
Unfortuately I can't see anything better than just outside the play offs at the mo judging on our away form!? lets see how it goes in the Jan transfer window
Re: Where do you think we will finish this season/
Obviously, I am replying some time later but I would have been confident of the play-offs in January. I now think we need something very special from loan signings to get there or better. I don't think Nugent is the answer and I think the defence is still the problem. We need at least one solid defender who can pass the ball and then we can use our midfield instead of keep bypassing it.
Every time we come up against a side that stops us playing we get sucked into a long ball game that doesn't work. The biggest worry is that Roeder has sorted out the Budgies and it looks like they might hit the play-offs on good form.
The Division is still up for the taking of any top half side that can put together a consistent run from here in.

Well, it looks like Roeder's bubble has burst and perhaps thats why the budgies have flown from here. They will be pleased with 17th now. We still need that loan defender, although when Sito has played we have looked better. Whether Shefki can get fit and do enough to make a difference time will tell. Play offs is still an outside bet with 8 games to go, but it looks highly probable that we will be the top team in Anglia again.

r u repeating this crazy, misplaced over-optimism by taking up the bet, or do you honestly believe that your budgies can go from relegation dross to play-off contenders or better this close season?

poor old tHeBrOKeNSeAT started here as a binner fan but now posts on the pink un as a City fan. Somebody tell him there is more to football than suppoting whoever has the busiest message board.

That is very sad if it is true. However, you need to speak to him on your pink site if that's where he/she is now. You are welcome to the fickle fans though, we'll stick with our loyal supporters who usually use our fanzine message board. Mind you, you budgie fans are so keen on the Town several even find their way there with inane comments, e.g. that Danny Haynes would be worth a maximum of £450,000. Slightly closer than the 2p the nutter on here suggested, mind.

Hey Terry Fied/brokenseat or whoever you are this week, what's your prediction for both the clubs you support for next season?
Oh dear will you ever get anything right. Once again you are mistaken. As a relative newcomer I don't even know the gentleman, brokenseat, you refer to.
To correct another misconception I support or more correctly follow Ipswich Town. I show interest in Colchester and I have ambivalent feelings and sympathy for Norwich City.
Now to answer your question I would expect Ipswich to finish comfortably in the play-off places and I would expect Norwich, if they can ride their luck, to avoid being relegated. Finally I would also expect Colchester to finish in the play-off zone.
For me the big question is if Ipswich gain promotion can they afford to build a team that can establish themselves there.

Sounds a reasonable assessment. As with everything it depends a little on new players. There will be a number of strong sides again next season. Given a fair wind in the transfer market for all concerned, those are reasonable predictions.
If it takes too long for Norwich's new team to bed in or any of their key loan signings that they seem set to rely on get recalled then they may find beating the drop trickier than they expect.
Not sure about Colchester, they may not have enough for the play-offs, although it would be nice to see them back in the Championship.

If we do not gain promotion to the Premier League I would prefer one or other of Colchester or Norwich to be in the Championship to provide a local derby.
I tend to agree that Norwich might find staying up a challenge too far in which case I really would like to see Colchester promoted in the event of Ipswich not gaining promotion themselves.

Mind you, we seem to find it more difficult to get a result at Layer Road than Carrot Rd. Whether that will still be the case once Col U finally move into their new stadium is another issue but that may count against them making it back up too. Clubs always seem to struggle in new stadia or when they build a new stand.
