Good luck in your new job, Jim

I HOPE Jim Magilton gets the QPR job.
It was right Marcus Evans axed him when he did, make no mistake.
But I think Jim could yet become a decent manager - as long as he learns from the lessons of the last 12 months.
His downfall at Portman Road was entirely his own making…bad signings, strange tactics and rumoured fall-outs with his squad.
But, despite that, his first two seasons in charge showed genuine promise - which is why Evans was so reluctant to sack Magilton.
There were many highlights during his fledgling 24 months in the job - and the majority of fans had real optimism for the future.
Of course, If Jim is successful in his West London interview, he will be working for an owner who is a little more trigger happy than the Town supremo.
Four managers have been and gone since Flavio Briatore rode into Loftus Road, armed with his millions and Premier League ambitions.
But if Jim is successful, I hope he has the time and resources to prove he his Ipswich experience has made him a better coach.
