David Beckham - in it for the money?
DAVID Beckham is currently weighing up whether or not to remain at AC Milan once his loan contract concludes on March 9.
His temporary switch from LA Galaxy has been a success to date.
The midfielder scored his first goal for the Italian giants in a recent match with Bologna and has become a popular figure among supporters of the Rossoneri.
Now he admits he has to decide whether he wants to remain in Italy or head 'home' to the west coast of America.
While the sunshine, glitz and glamour of life in the States will be an attraction to the 33-year-old, his decision is a simple one - choose football or money.
AC Milan can not offer the sort of contract Beckham enjoys at Galaxy. The record-breaking deal which saw the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star sign on at the Home Depot Center was unprecedented - and extortionate given his age.
However, Carlo Ancelotti can give Beckham something worth much, much more - the chance to play for one of the world's finest clubs in the autumn of his career, the opportunity to wear the famous red and black shirt in the San Siro, one of football's cathedrals.
What's more, Fabio Capello freely admits he will only add to Beckham's 108 England caps if he is performing at a top club.
I hope Beckham makes the right decision.
