The miracle healing power of football and a great video game is set to return....

SPORT can make us feel good. Fact. When Derby last got promoted to the Premier League - before becoming officially the worst team ever - I was so full of joy that I kissed a man on the cheek. I also felt like I was happy-drunk for about a week afterwards (although to be fair, I probably was - many Stellas were sunk on that bank holiday Monday).

But it seems that sport can also perform miracles of healing too, and not just of the Didier Drogba "I've broken my leg ref, that's a penner. No? What? Ooo, my leg is fine again now - all the better to chase you around the pitch like a petulant sulky child" variety.

Nope, my friends you are about to witness a true miracle. The setting was Burnley's Turf Moor ground, the occasion the first leg of their playoff semi-final with heavily-favoured Reading.

As you probably know, the Clarets won that first game 1-0 and went on to take a 3-0 aggregate victory and book a trip to Wem-ber-ley.

And no-one was more overjoyed about the first-leg goal than one fan apparently sitting in the disabled section. Praise the Lord!

One more reason to celebrate like you've been healed this week - the impending return of video game classic Punch Out, soon to be released on the Wii.

The orginal Nintendo version was a beast, so hopefully version 2K9 will continue that fine tradition.

To get you in the mood, here's a trailer featuring recent Ricky Hatton victim Paulie Malignaggi assuming the role of Little Mac - and donning a fine baby pink tracksuit - to get in training for the game's release.

Right, that's it for this post. Have a good one.

Cheers!
