KIRKLEY & Pakefield moved into the semi-finals of Suffolk Premier Cup with an extra-time victory at Walsham
It was the fifth meeting this season between these two clubs and the game was very even for the first 10 minutes.
North then had a good shot for Walsham which was well saved by the Kirkley keeper, Musgrove then broke clear but failed to find Tatham who was well placed to score.
Kirkley were putting some good moves together but Walsham still had the better chances. After 40 minutes Cusack’s free kick was deflected past Kirkley keeper Woodcock to give Walsham the lead.
Walsham had other chances to increase the lead but failed to take them.
As the second half progressed Kirkley were coming more into the game as Walsham sat back, Henderson was prominent in a lot of the moves, an excellent free kick by Fox for Kirkley produced a fine save by the Walsham keeper McNally, who was injured in the process.
But after lengthy treatment he was able to carry on.
Kirkley equalised with an excellent shot by Fox to take the game in to extra time.
In the first period of extra time both sides had good chances but then a disputed penalty for Kirkley was put away by Woodcock to give Kirkley the lead. Still Walsham battled for the equaliser but Stone and Fox scored two late goals to give Kirkley a flattering score line of 4-1
