Stern John signs

Last updated: 11/26/2009 7:24:00 PM

IPSWICH Town have completed the loan signing of striker Stern John, although it was touch-and-go!

The paperwork was processed just minutes before the 5pm transfer deadline, but Stern is now a Town player until January. The 33-year-old should make his debut at Cardiff on Sunday.

  • We really are scraping the barrel now are we not? Hey listen, I for one wanted Roy Keane to work, goodness knows we had enough of old “He who never made a bad signing” but signing Stern John takes the biscuit. We’re behaving like some Mickey Mouse Div 1 or 2 sides, signing any old body just to try and placate the fans. No I’m sorry this isn’t good enough. This is not what Marcus Evans had in mind when he sanctioned £Millions to spend. He and all of us deserve better than this, I hate saying this but enough is enough. RK has to go and get somebody in please just to preserve the Championship status. If we fall any lower then it will take ages to resurrect our club. Sorry Roy, it hasn’t worked, be a man and don’t take the pay-off. You had everything at your disposal but screwed it up. It’s your fault, go away with nothing, just the same as what you’ve left us.

  • This signing smacks of the actions of a desperate man who is proving to be well out of his depth.

  • Laughable

  • My goodness. Is this what it has come to? This stinks of desperation,
