My best wishes to you and get well soon Mum Magilton. See you back soon JM perhaps at Southampton they need your skills to come back from their financial woes

Even us fans who wanted him out always knew he was a gentleman and a loyal servent to the club. But football is football and results are everything. Shame it couldn't of worked out though. Didn't like his managerial style, but still a top bloke.

Club Legend. I hope they do something to commemorate his time with the club.

Thanks Jim for 10 years loyal service and all the best for the future. The hat trick in the Bolton game ensures your place in Ipswich folklore. Good luck

It is a great pity that Jim was not able to achieve his objective in the time that he had. Although football is a ruthless business and the rewards for success very high, the price of failure is commensurate. I thought it was great that Ipswich gave him the chance and I was initially optimistic, given his knowledge of the players the club had at the time and of the strength and weaknesses of the opposition sides he would face. As with anyone in his position I have no doubt that he did his best as no one sets out to fail. As supporters we have the luxury of hindsight vision (20/20 of course) but when you are in his position you have to make the decisions that you think will best ensure success. Criticism of him for 'chopping and changing' at least shows that he endeavoured to be as flexible as possible. Continually playing the same side would have inevitably drawn criticism of 'inflexibility etc' when it lost. I would like to remember his great contribution as a player and hope that he succeeds in his next role. It has been disappointing, but perhaps not surprising, to see a small section of the fan base try to 'put the boot in' but I like to think that the overwhelming majority of supporters are bigger than that. I now look forward to a new era with Roy at the helm and hope that he is given every chance to succeed.
