COLCHESTER United’s home game against Brentford, scheduled for tomorrow evening, looks certain to go ahead after a group of U’s supporters helped to clear several inches of snow off the pitch earlier today.

Even manager John Ward helped out with an hour’s shovelling of snow, to make sure that the pitch was clear following a week’s covering.

No pitch inspection is planned, and providing there is no sudden dip in temperature tomorrow evening, or the onset of more snow, then the game against Brentford will take place.

It will be the first time that either the U’s or the Bees have played since their respective wins over Leyton Orient and Wycombe on January 28.
