Manager John Ward has not ruled out the possibility of recruiting one or two new players, particularly in attacking positions, although he is under no pressure to off-load any of his own squad.

Several members of his senior squad will be out of contract this summer, including the likes of John-Joe O’Toole, Ben Williams, Pat Baldwin, Ashley Vincent and Matt Heath. As yet, there has been no news over any possible new deals.

Ward said: “The phone calls are in, and the requests are there to see if we can get a couple of players in.

“I said at the beginning of the month that we would like to bring a couple in to strengthen the squad, and see if we could nudge it up a little bit.

“We tried young Casey Thomas (on loan from Swansea), and although he was no problem for us, it didn’t push the team on a little bit. He was a young, inexperienced player, so I think I have got to look elsewhere to try and get a little bit of experience and know-how.

“It’s not necessary for me to move players on, to get one or two in.

“Obviously there maybe one or two players that get affected by it, but I am not under that restriction at the moment. But if we don’t get anyone in, I don’t want anyone moving out.

“We haven’t got a big squad, and when you look at the number of games we have got coming up in February, I have to look ahead.

“I have had no enquiries for any of my players,” concluded Ward.
